Codie Anne is a contemporary artist trained in the fine arts, specializing in life drawing and landscapes using acrylics, ink, and charcoal. Since 2020 they have incorporated their skills as a crochet artist into their contemporary work, blurring the line on what is considered craft as opposed to art.
They are also a performing artist with a history of theatre, circus, and dance. Working professionally since 2014 they have performed at festivals, on stage, lead workshops, and taught choreography. Currently employed by the Mad Hatters of Moray they are enjoying street “walk-abouts” with characters Codie can improvise with through interacting with cast mates and audience members.
Codie Anne is on the fourth year of the BA (Hons) Art and Contemporary Practices course at UHI Inverness. While studying, they also undertook placement at the Moray Art Centre in Findhorn assisting with art classes and their 2024 takeover show. Through volunteering at the Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in 2014 they achieved a 50-hour Saltier Award. They have exhibited their work at the Moray Art Centre , Inverness Botanical Gardens, Wasps Inverness, and An t-Eilean twice, once in collaboration with IM Swedish Developers to mark the 2020 UN International Human Rights Day.
They like to describe themselves as “a creative mess” by trying their hand at everything and doing a little bit of each artist practice. Codie Anne does not like to stay in a niche or one role for two long, instead preferring to explore and push her skills set.
